El Capitan de America (Oh, I’m Clever)

OK, not really. But look at his costume! Am I the only one who thinks it slightly looks like he’s wearing suspenders? Maybe? A little?

Batman 3 Has Been Christened!

YES! Christopher “Even My Poop is Gold” Nolan just released the new title for the next Batman movie. Ready for it? The Dark Knight Rises. EP-IC. Also notable, Nolan has completely vanquished all rumors saying that the baddie in this one will be The Riddler.

For ShigglesNot going to lie, I had my heart set on Joseph Gordon-Levitt blowing that role out of the frakking water, but I guess a girl can dream.

Daft Punk’s TRON

Let awesomely glam Michael Sheen explain this for you:

I can’t even express how excited I am for this movie. Just. Can’t. Fantasticness.

1.21 Gigawatts + 88 MPH =

The SPIKE TV Scream Awards were on Tuesday. I didn’t get the chance to watch, but I did, however, hear about the Back to the Future mini cast reunion. As one of my all time favorite movies, I felt like I had to share. Set your time circuits to AWESOME:

As for Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox accepting the award, the only video I could find is mildly reminiscent of kinescope, but it’ll do.

How amazing is that? 25 years and still a hit. That’s heavy.

Rock of Ages: 80s Explosion in Yer Ears!

If you’ve ever read this blog, you know my love for musicals (ahem) reaches the ends of the universe. I’ve been lucky enough to “student rush” Wicked, Avenue Q, Spamalot, The Lion King, Sweeney Todd, and win lottery tickets to Million Dollar Quartet. Not to mention university productions of Into the Woods and Bat Boy. Oooookay, enough name dropping.

GUESS WHAT I SAW! Correction: saw TWICE. That’s right. Who’s a poor college student and still splurged $52 to see a musical twice within the same week (and has two thumbs)? THIS GUY!

Rock of Ages

Where is this going? Gotcha:

Top 5 Reasons You Should Drag Your Ass To See Rock Of Ages NOW (in no particular order):

1. You enjoyed Constantine Maroulis on American Idol: Know what, that doesn’t even matter. I’ve never watched AI and I STILL LOVED HIM.

2. You enjoy having Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, Asia, Poison, Journey, Warrant, REO Speedwagon ( + more) stuck in your head: I’ve been singing “Heat of the Moment” all week.

3. You’ve ever wanted to be a groupie. Ever: This comes directly out of a conversation I had with my roomie (Brownie McTree) during intermission. She pretty much told me she’s glad I wasn’t “of decent age” during the 80s since I’d probably spend my life stalking Sebastian Bach. This, I didn’t argue.

4. Danny McBride and/or Jack Black rock your socks: The narrator is PRETTY MUCH a lovechild of the two. Which is to say, he’s raunchysexyhilarious.

5. You have even the narrowest sense of humor: Comedy. Musical. Awesome.

Rock of Ages is touring. Hunt it down and watch it. Then get in line and watch it again.

Sebastian, Nikki, Jani

P.S. This entry is brought to you by the men who would make me drop out of film school in a heartbeat. Too bad they’re old enough to be my…well…I’d still hit that.

Twin Suns All The Way

I have to wonder, if a Double Rainbow is inconcievably amazing, what would a Double Sunset be? Clearly, our brains would explode in awe. But I digress. Want a beautifully inspiring recap of the best (and in my opinion, ONLY) three Star Wars movies? What’s that? You want it animated in 2-D? Untainted by graphics and ubiquitous greenscreens? PLUS a surefire Indie nerd hit? Here you go:

Tatooine

George Lucas, let this be a sign. Sometimes all you need is a little construction paper and safety scissors to get your point across. That’s. It.

P.S. Check out ALL of the adorably animated paper vids. You’ll be glad you did.

Make-A-Wish Makes A Superhero

This story definitely made me tear up and I felt that it HAD to be shared. The Make-A-Wish foundation sees no limits when it comes to fulfilling dreams. I give them mad props. This little boy gets to be a superhero AND ride in a DeLorean AND chat with Spider-Man. Also, the Seattle Sounders are awesome for participating.

Spider-Man Update: We’ve Got A Gwen!

Emma Stone has been confirmed to play Gwen Stacy in the new Spider-Man reboot. I concur wholeheartedly. Sassy is as sassy does, right? Oh my… there were a lot of S’s in that sentence. Proof.
