Visit The Doctor for Christmas

Cause no matter where you are, I guarantee he’ll be blowin’ up your TV screen. What am I talking about? THE DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without Hanukkah first and then some Doctor.

November 5th and You

Guy Fawkes or Doc Brown?Blowin’ stuff up or inventing time travel? We all can’t be Guy Fawkes, English conspirator, or Doc Brown, mad scientist. So today I decided to find out what else happened on this epic day of November (other that National Novel Writing Month and “No Shaving”).

  • In 1831, Nat Turner, preacher and slave leader, is convicted in Virginia.
  • In 1879, James Maxwell, physicist and creator of electromagnetic theory (Maxwell’s equations), died.
  • In 1895, George B. Selden gets the first patent for the automobile.
  • In 1911, Roy Rogers, actor (My Pal Trigger, Bells of San Angelo), is born.
  • In 1913, Vivien Leigh, actress (Gone with the Wind), is born.
  • In 1938, Jim Steranko, comic book God (Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is born.
  • In 1941, Art Garfunkel, like you don’t know him, is born.
  • In 1995, Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien is almost assassinated.
  • In 2006, Saddam Hussein is sentenced to death for his crimes against humanity (and for being a major asshole?).

AND for a special added bonus: Did you know that both Bryan Adams and Ryan Adams were born on November 5th? Someone somewhere just imploded from that fact.
