I feel like such a little kid, but this is really exciting. I’m from the South, leave me alone. Boston is under a winter storm warning. We’re expected to get 6 to 12 inches of snow from right now on to later today. The news is even referring to it as the ‘Blizzard of 2009′. HOW COOL IS THAT?! I love snow. I’m excited to go roll around in it after I’ve had more than five hours of sleep. Finals are done. All that’s left is a work shift and then on to the airplane!
Sidenote: Tonight my roomie and I went to a Street Dogs show. This is the second time I’ve seen them live, and boy oh boy how I love them! If you ever really want to feel like an improper Bostonian, go see them. Scally caps, tattoos, and Irishmen galore! For those of you who don’t know, the original lead singer from Dropkick Murphys quit a while ago to become a fireman. Then later he decided to start up another band which is the alternative punk amazingness of Street Dogs.
Yes, I got elbowed equally on each cheekbone, yes my cell phone ate it big time, yes I was covered in sweat that was not of my own, but we got to go on stage (along with the rest of the front row) for the final number. I got to hug the lead singer (because I’m a little girl and I get starstruck easily) and I even got a guitar pick (adding to my collection). A fabulous evening indeed. Oh? What’s that? Surprising, you say? I know. No one expects that of me. I get crazy at shows and I dance and I push and I get up close and I yell and I punch people. But who doesn’t?
Back to the topic. Here’s a picture of the current state of the storm as seen through my window. And now I will go pass out from exhaustion. Snowmen tomorrow! Huzzah!
